Tahlequah Community Playhouse, Inc. announces the cast of the current play, “I Hate Hamlet”, written by Paul Rudnick, directed by Brian and Bridget Cowlishaw.
The cast includes: Coty Thompson as the lead, Andrew Rally; Samantha Clifford as Diedre Mc Davey, Bridget Cowlishaw as Felicia Dantine, Peggy Kaney as Lillian Troy, Matthew Tillinghast as Gary Peter Lefkowist, and Mike Phillips as John Barrymore.
The play is about a young successful television actor who relocates to New York. His television career, however, is now in limbo. When offered the opportunity to play Hamlet on stage, he faces one big problem. He Hates Hamlet! To add to the dilemma, the gothic apartment he has rented is haunted by John Barrymore’s ghost whose Hamlet was the greatest of all time. The contrast between the two leads to a wildly funny duel over women, art, success, duty, television, and, yes, the apartment. Show dates are February 9-11, and 16-18. 2018. All performances are held at the Tahlequah Armory Municipal Center, 100 North Water Ave., Tahlequah, OK. Tickets are $30 for dinner and the show, $15 for show only tickets, $10 for show only student tickets and may be purchased at A Bloom, Morris-Cragar florists, or online at www.tcpok.com.
Reservations are required for the dinners and must be made by Wednesday at 5 p.m. prior to the show you want to see. Catering by Everything Nice by Colene. Doors open and dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with the play starting at 7:30 p.m. and doors open and dinner is served at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday with the play starting at 2:00 p.m.
