Quilt Raffle
As many are aware, Tahlequah Community Playhouse (TCP) is producing Quilters! the Musical. We are excited to bring you this gorgeous heartwarming, heart wrenching story of Women’s lives on the prairie during the early 1900’s.
This play’s scenes are introduced by the sharing of an applicable quilt block – that is hand made.
That’s where the Quilting Sisters come in. A lovely group of nine local women, many of whom had never met prior to this project, agreed to make 2 each of 16 quilt blocks, assembling and quilting an entire quilt out of one set of 16 blocks.
The group, led by April Adams, forged a fast and loving friendship that will endure. They enjoyed their experience so much, they’ve decided to continue working together, fostering their already beautiful friendship.
And that is exactly the sentiment demonstrated in the musical.
We are pleased, honored, and humbled by the request of the Quilting Sisters to offer the completed quilt up for raffle to raise funds for TCP, a non-profit organization.
Each raffle ticket is $5.00. The drawing for the winner will occur following our last performance on September 25, 2022.
The quilt is currently on display at Beautiquey and the Beast, 120 N Muskogee Ave, where raffle tickets can also be purchased until the show opens. Raffle tickets are also available through our Box Office 539-234-9444 and at the play.
The Quilting Sisters are comprised of: April Adams, Diann Barrick, Linda Cheatham, Louise Davis, Sue Dugger, Sheila Fields, Brenda Kirk, Rita Parnell, and Susan Stinnett.
Tahlequah’s First United Methodist Church generously donated the use of their sewing room for the Quilting Sisters. We love this Community that serves us all.
