Kiss Me, Kate

Tahlequah Community Playhouse, Inc. presents the fall musical, Kiss Me, Kate where Shakespeare meets showbiz in this backstage musical comedy where egos flare, exes feud, and two gangsters accidentally join the cast. With unforgettable Cole Porter songs and chaotic charm, Kiss Me, Kate is a hilarious, high-energy ride through love, laughter, and live theater. Taken from the book by Sam and Bella Spewack with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and directed by Criss Pearson & Carrie Emberton.

STORY: Passions run high as leading lady Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, actor/director Fred Graham, battle onstage and off in a production of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes high jinks, Kiss Me, Kate combines the irreverent humor of four brilliant writers: Sam and Bella Spewack, Cole Porter, and William Shakespeare.
