Be a Star Behind the Scenes: Volunteer with Tahlequah Community Playhouse!

At Tahlequah Community Playhouse, we believe that every great performance begins with a great community. That’s where you come in.

Whether you’re a seasoned theater lover or just looking for a fun way to give back, volunteering with TCP is your chance to be part of something meaningful, magical, and downright memorable.

Why Volunteer?

Make a Real Impact
Your time and talents help us bring quality productions to life—and make theater accessible to everyone in our community.

Build Lifelong Friendships
We’re more than a playhouse—we’re a family. Volunteering is a great way to meet people, form connections, and create memories you’ll treasure.

Use Your Skills—or Learn New Ones!
From sewing to stagecraft, fundraising to Facebook posts—there’s a role for every interest, skill level, and schedule.

Be Part of the Arts in Tahlequah
Live theater is one of the most authentic human experiences. Your volunteer efforts keep this art form alive and thriving right here in Cherokee County.

Ways You Can Help

🎭 Backstage Crew
Help build sets, manage props, run lights or sound, and keep the magic flowing behind the curtain.

🪡 Costumes & Makeup
If you can sew, paint a face, or pin a hem in a hurry—we need your flair!

🎟️ Front of House
Greet patrons, hand out programs, sell tickets or concessions, and help everyone feel welcome.

📣 Marketing & Outreach
Love social media? Good with words or design? Help us spread the word about our productions and events.

💼 Fundraising & Grant Writing
Help secure the resources TCP needs to thrive. Write grants, plan donor campaigns, organize fundraisers, and help us grow our impact.

🌍 Community Engagement
Connect with schools, civic groups, and local businesses to expand TCP’s reach and bring theater to new audiences. If you’re passionate about education or public service, this is a fantastic way to serve.

🧹 Strike & Clean-Up Crew
After the final bow, we still need hands to reset the stage and prepare for the next production.

👩‍🏫 Education & Youth Programs
Support our mission to educate and inspire the next generation of performers and technicians—including through our acclaimed Penguin Project, which brings the magic of theater to youth with special needs.

No Experience? No Problem.

We’ll show you the ropes! Whether you’ve got a few hours a month or want to dive in headfirst, there’s a place for you at TCP.
