    Drop Dead

    The first show of the 47th season of the Tahlequah Community Playhouse is coming soon! Show dates are September 18- 20, 2020 and September 25-27, 2020. All performances are held at the Tahlequah Armory Municipal Center, 100 North Water Ave., Tahlequah, OK.   The play is about a cast of has-been actors who plan to revive their careers in “Drop Dead”, a potboiler murder mystery directed by “Wonder Child of the Broadway Stage”, Victor Le Pewe (a psychotic eye twitching megalomaniac). But when the murders and mysteries exceed those in the script-these thespians must save the show and their careers as well as their lives!

    Tahlequah Community Playhouse, Inc. recently held the annual ERWIN Awards banquet at Cherokee Nation Ballroom. The awards are named for one of the founding members, Dr. Erwin Turner. This year the theme was “A Creepy, Kooky, Mysterious, and Spooky Evening” in reference to the fall musical The Addams Family. Guests were encouraged to wear black because it is such a happy color. The event was catered by Everything Nice by Colene.     Tahlequah Community Playhouse, Inc. will present “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling, directed by Sandra Becker and Patsy Clifford on April 14-16, and April 21-23, 2017 at the  Armory Municipal Center, 100 Water Ave., Tahlequah, Ok. The play is based on the true story of Harling’s sister, Susan Harling Robinson, who is the focus of the play. The women portrayed in the play are real characters.The play premiered at the WPA Theatre in New York City in 1987.
