Moon over Buffalo
Tahlequah Community Playhouse, Inc. presents the last play of our 45th season, “Moon Over Buffalo”, written by Ken Ludwig, directed by Mike Phillips and Steve Ball, April 12-14 and April 19-21, 2019, at the Tahlequah Armory Municipal Center, 100 North Water Avenue, Tahlequah, OK. This play may not be suitable for children.
The play centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950’s. At the moment, they’re playing “Private Lives” and “Cyrano De Bergerac” in rep in Buffalo, New York with five actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might have one more shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to see the matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of “The Scarlett Pimpernel.” Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, with hilarious uncertainty about which play they are actually performing.
