    ERWIN awards for the 1999/2000 Season were named at the First Presbyterian Church on August 26, 2000. Bob McQuitty, current president, served as the master of ceremonies. This year the Erwin for Best Production went to Look Homeward, Angel, directed by Mike Phillips. David McQuitty was named Best Actor for his portrayal of Eugene Gant in Look Homeward, Angel. Diane Morgan received the Erwin for Best Actress for her portrayal of Miribelle Coventry in Good Help Is So Hard to Murder.     Erwin Awards – Season 28

    ERWIN awards for the 2001/2002 Season were named at the Restaurant of the Cherokees on September 21,  2002.  Peggy Kaney, director of last year’s ERWIN AWARD winner for Best Production served as the master of ceremonies.  Johathan Brown provided the entertainment with several songs, including “Jambalaya”.  The restaurant was decorated with a Mardi Gras theme to kick off the new season with Steel Magnolias, which is set in Louisiana.     Tahlequah Community Playhouse, Inc. recently held the annual ERWIN Awards banquet at Cherokee Nation Ballroom. The awards are named for one of the founding members, Dr. Erwin Turner. This year the theme was “A Creepy, Kooky, Mysterious, and Spooky Evening” in reference to the fall musical The Addams Family. Guests were encouraged to wear black because it is such a happy color. The event was catered by Everything Nice by Colene.     Tahlequah Community Playhouse, Inc. will present “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling, directed by Sandra Becker and Patsy Clifford on April 14-16, and April 21-23, 2017 at the  Armory Municipal Center, 100 Water Ave., Tahlequah, Ok. The play is based on the true story of Harling’s sister, Susan Harling Robinson, who is the focus of the play.
